JOAB Global NV, formerly known as Zeepfabriek JOAB, is a family-owned business based in Suriname with over 30 years experience in the production of natural, handmade eco-friendly soap. The founders of the company are Johan & Jowanie Aboikoni. This business was established in 1991.
The early years of Joab is story of a little home based business which involved selling on the streets of Suriname from “run-away” locations as Jowanie and Johan laid the foundations of this business. Each day was a new challenge in the midst of many obstacles.
The company has transitioned from a sole proprietorship to an N.V., with Mirjam Georges-Aboikoni, daughter of Johan and Jowanie, appointed as the new director as she takes over from her mother.
